The investigation is checking for the involvement of Artem Chekalin, the wife of blogger Valeria Chekalina (Lerchek), in fraud. On Friday, July 14, the investigator said during a meeting of the Presnensky Court of Moscow.
The court is considering a petition from the investigation to tighten Chekalin’s preventive measure – replacing the ban on certain actions with house arrest in connection with repeated violations of the ban.
During the meeting, the investigator spoke about checking Artem Chekalin for involvement in the crime under the article “Fraud”.
He also stressed that the damage in the criminal case on tax evasion and money laundering has not yet been compensated, although earlier the Chekalins’ lawyer claimed that they had paid off all their debts to the Federal Tax Service.
Earlier, sources claimed that the criminal cases of bloggers Elena Blinovskaya and Valeria Chekalina (Lerchek) are being prepared for merging into one proceeding, since they found a common “roof” that allowed them to evade taxes.
