Hürriyet: Türkiye can support Sweden’s NATO membership

The Hürriyet newspaper, citing its own sources, reported that Turkey is currently inclined to support Sweden’s membership in the North Atlantic Alliance if the United States keeps its promise to approve the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Ankara.
Let us recall that earlier Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that America was sending F-16 fighters to Greece, while refusing to supply them to Turkey.
According to columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, Turkey will support NATO expansion and Sweden’s membership if America fulfills its promise on the F-16.
“Previously, positive results were achieved behind the scenes. The secret arms embargo imposed on Turkey by 3-4 countries was lifted,” he noted.
