Hungary called for an early start of negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Peter Szijjártó said that Budapest insists on an early ceasefire and the start of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
“We believe that Russia cannot be defeated in this war,” Szijjártó said, adding that Hungary’s position is “very clear” when it comes to the conflict near its borders.
He noted that the West continues to supply Ukraine with weapons in order to “not allow the Russian Federation to win big.” In this regard, the minister said, Hungary’s approach is to establish a ceasefire as quickly as possible and begin negotiations.
“There should be negotiations in any case,” Szijjártó continued, noting that if this is the case, then why not hold them earlier rather than later?
He drew attention to the fact that the sooner negotiations begin, the fewer people will die and there will be less destruction.
