HRC members ask ICR to verify authenticity of video of alleged sledgehammer killing

A group of members of the Human Rights Council (HRC) intends to ask the chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (ICR) Alexander Bastrykin to check the video of the alleged murder of former Wagner PMC fighter Yevgeny Nuzhin with a sledgehammer. The video was posted on November 12 on the GRAY ZONE Telegram channel, which is associated with the Wagner PMC.
Video already commented the founder of PMC Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, with the words “to a dog – a dog’s death.” Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov declined to comment record.
She posted a post about the upcoming appeal in her Telegram channel member of the HRC Ekaterina Vinokurova, attaching what she wrote for “YarNews” a note on this.
Among other things, HRC members want to know who is on the video besides the victim, who was the cameraman, and on whose initiative the video was distributed. They also ask the investigating authority to give a legal assessment of what happened.
Former prisoner Yevgeny Nuzhin took part in the hostilities in Ukraine as part of the Wagner PMC, but surrendered. Later, he began to give interviews in Ukraine that he would like to fight against Russia. On Sunday night, a video appeared on the Internet in which a man who looked like Yevgeny Nuzhin, one to one, stated that he had been kidnapped and were going to be tried. After these words, an unknown person in the background smashes his head with a sledgehammer, and the video cuts off.
The appeal to Mr. Bastrykin was signed by the following members of the HRC: Eva Merkacheva, Ekaterina Vinokurova, Alexander Brod, Alexander Verkhovsky, Tatyana Margolina, Svetlana Makovetskaya, Natalia Evdokimova, Igor Pastukhov, Igor Kalyapin.
It is proposed that this appeal be sent to the TFR with his signature by the chairman of the HRC Valery Fadeev. In case of refusal, the appeal will be sent for the signatures of a group of council members.
