How yard sports are being developed in Chelyabinsk

Today, there are more than 160 outdoor venues in the city. These facilities are supervised by MBU “Sports City”. These are sites for various purposes. There are hockey courts, playgrounds – volleyball, basketball, football, treadmills, outdoor fitness equipment, workout grounds, a ski base, skate parks. Prospects for the development of yard sports were discussed by the participants press conferences of the Granada Press media holding.
“At the sites, adults, teenagers and children can come and do physical education free of charge, lead a healthy lifestyle, including under the guidance of qualified instructors who work there,” said Maxim Kleshchevnikov, head of the sports and physical culture department of the Chelyabinsk administration.
He noted that the sites under the jurisdiction of the “Sports City” are repaired and put into proper shape every year. At the same time, work is underway to identify ownerless sites, which are then transferred to the city and facilities for physical culture are created there.
Also in Chelyabinsk, a new direction is being developed – yard games. This allows you to attract additional participants to the physical culture movement.
– These yard games, which originated in the Soviet years, have a very positive effect on the formation of a child. This is both teamwork and the ability to communicate not only with peers, but also with older or younger children. Leadership qualities are also formed, creative skills are developed. And most importantly, outdoor games are an incentive for an active lifestyle in a fun way, – said Maxim Kleshchevnikov.
Today in the Chelyabinsk courtyards such games as “Square”, “One Touch”, “Bank”, “Classics”, “Rubber Band” and others are being revived.
