After the ban on the use of Apple technology by employees for work purposes, introduced by Rostec on July 13, the state corporation switched to smartphones of its own brand AYYA. A spokesman for the company told Vedomosti about this. According to him, the restrictions affected the use of not only smartphones, but also tablets and laptops from Apple. “Priority is given to models of Russian manufacturers. Among other things, employees are switching to smartphones of our own brand AYYA,” a representative of Rostec told Vedomosti.

The T1 model of the AYYA smartphone for government customers runs on the secure domestic Aurora operating system. From several hundred to 2,000 AYYA T1 smartphones are used by law enforcement agencies and Rosatom, a source close to retailers notes. The interlocutor noted that AYYA T1 (on Android 11 OS) is in low demand in the retail market. From October 2021 to March 2023, retailers sold only 905 of these smartphones, or 18% of the total shipments from Chinese factories that assemble the phone, Vedomosti wrote on March 23.
