“How I felt”: new details of the tragedy at Crocus City Hall

Some spectators came to the concert without companions

We continue to collect bitter stories from visitors to Crocus City Hall who, on Friday, March 22, went to a concert of their favorite rock band and did not return. It is not surprising that many married couples were among the dead.

Ekaterina and Pavel Dorofeev were suffocated by smoke. They are from Sergiev Posad: Ekaterina is an accountant, Pavel is an electrician. A strong, friendly family, two children, 12 and 14 years old… “Now I have to raise them,” says Catherine’s mother bitterly. It was Katya who initiated the hike; she liked the Picnic group.

Love for the group brought a couple from Kirov, Pavel and Irina Okishev, to Crocus City Hall. Pasha worked as a furniture assembler, Irina worked as a photographer. Friends gave them tickets to the concert, and the couple went to Moscow by train. They were not destined to return back.

Victoria Ladeyshchikova went to a concert with her friends. A terrible coincidence: her mother turned 65 on March 23. On the day of her anniversary, she learned of the death of her daughter. Victoria is from Yekaterinburg, where her mother and adult daughter live. The woman herself moved to the Moscow region a long time ago. Over the past year she has been plagued by misfortune: her house burned down last February. To unwind, Vika decided to attend a performance.

There were also those who wanted to listen to the concert alone. For example, Natalya Zudina, an employee of the military department, went to the concert alone. Her husband called morgues all night and only learned the terrible truth in the morning.

Tatyana Boyko worked in the human resources department in a Moscow company. She loved music and concerts. I listened to rock bands and tried not to miss the performances of my favorite performers. “I didn’t know a more cheerful and positive person,” cousin Vyacheslav recalls about Tatyana.

Vyacheslav did not know that his sister was going to a concert. But as soon as I heard about the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, I called Tatyana’s mother. “How I felt,” says the man. His worst fears were confirmed. At first the girl did not get in touch, then the lists of the dead were published. There is no longer any doubt.

– Tatyana was incredibly beautiful and charming. “She had everything except her personal life,” says the brother of the deceased. “She never found her loved one.” Although her mother, my aunt, was really looking forward to her grandchildren. I thought there was still more to come.

Tatyana’s brother lives in St. Petersburg. He called his sister many times to see the Northern capital, but she never got around to it, although she loved to travel. Vyacheslav was sure that this summer he would definitely show Tanya the white nights.
