Despite the closure of factories and enterprises, the inhabitants of Ukraine manage to maintain an acceptable standard of living. How do they do it? Trying to survive, people invent profitable professions that are unusual for the mentality of the majority of those around them. Those who are so-so with creativity simply “bred” overly gullible citizens. The MK correspondent made an attempt to figure out to what extent the freshest ways to get rich are legal.

According to the published data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the average monthly salary of Ukrainians by the end of the first year of the SVO increased by 6% compared to 2021. It is now 14 thousand 859 hryvnia or 30 thousand 726 Russian rubles. The majority of Ukrainians, of course, have never seen such sums during the year.

From the beginning of March, the Pension Fund of Ukraine intends to index pensions and social benefits. Some categories are promised significant allowances. However … let’s wait for the first reviews “from the field.” The last indexation, carried out in March 2022, also seemed very encouraging at first. After a few months, the pensioners had nothing at all. Everything was “eaten up” by inflation and new tariffs for heat and electricity.

Initially, the people were “fooled” with promises to immediately use Russian assets blocked somewhere. Financial analyst Sergei Fursa lowered the dreamers to the sinful earth. It turned out that neither this year nor in 2024 will this imaginary money reach Ukraine. In the most “optimistic” case, the process will stretch for 5-10 years. The whole point is the absence of relevant legislative provisions in each of the countries that supported the idea of ​​transferring this very “confiscation” to Ukraine. “

Given these and other difficulties, some cunning Ukrainians do not waste time realizing the chance bestowed on them by fate to quickly get rich …

“Dear depositor of Oschadbank, all your cards are blocked, our manager will contact you shortly.” Having once again heard this set of words in Russian, I habitually “reset” the call. Firstly, my accounts in Oschadbank have been permanently closed for 15 years. Secondly, in Ukraine it is customary to use only MOV in official communication. Recently, however, the organizers of the telephone “scam” decided on unprecedented generosity: they recorded an introductory text in Ukrainian.

A far more noble business was invented by displaced persons from the eastern regions of Ukraine. Laundries began to open in dormitories of temporarily non-functioning educational institutions and in empty kindergartens. Because tap water is so expensive these days, a whole laundromat system like Laundry-Ka has sprung up. Especially these institutions liked the youth and students. People come to the laundries with their own detergents and with smartphones loaded with appropriate mobile applications. Having paid with their help for the actual washing, spinning and the desired temperature, they themselves launch a washing machine equipped with a bill acceptor. The price of the service is low: from 15 hryvnia per kilogram (31 rubles) to 80 hryvnia. (165 rubles). Prices were set before the start of the CBO, they are trying to keep despite some periods of falling demand. The entire range of services is provided to the Ukrainian military free of charge.

In the spring of last year, demand for services fell by 90%. Now it is still impossible to “jump” above 50-60 percent of the pre-war level. Nevertheless, none of the 200 branches throughout Ukraine stopped working.

Another profitable business is dog walking. This type of additional income, starting from the “covid period”, has been mastered by many Ukrainians. And not only retirement and school age. Anyone can be a customer for this type of service. People simply may not have enough time for a walk with their four-legged pets, or even desire. In any Ukrainian regional center, and even more so in Kyiv, a novice dog walker acquires a sufficient number of regular customers within the first month. This helps to create a payment schedule that is convenient for them, provide them with some additional services and provide certain discounts. A permanent walker is beneficial to the “employer” for another reason. Not all dogs immediately perceive strangers. But after several walks with the same person, the dog gets used to him quite well. Dog walking as a type of service exists at beauty salons for animals, hotels for four-legged and veterinary services. It’s even easier to get clients here.

The cost of one hour of walking a dog ranges from 100 to 500 hryvnia (from 207 to 1034 Russian rubles). Depending on the breed of dog and social status, some Kyiv walkers earn 700 hryvnias (1,447 rubles) per hour. Working 4-5 hours, you can get from 400 to 2500 UAH per day. (827 – 5170 rubles). But there are also risks. For example, if you are caught walking with a dog on the territory of a hospital, sanatorium, dispensary, school, kindergarten, cemetery or city park / square, where the city authorities have banned walking, the fine is not imposed on the owner of the dog, but on the walker.
