Honorary President of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Rene Fasel headed the refereeing commission of the Continental Hockey League (KHL), said League President Alexei Morozov. According to him, Mr. Fasel “it was interesting” himself.
“The big man agreed to help us. He always wants to help on the conditions that we will hear him… He notes the quality of the game and the players, and also believes that our refereeing is one of the best in the world, ”said Mr. Morozov (quoted by RIA Novosti).
Rane Fasel led the IIHF from 1994 to 2021. The press service of the KHL said that Mr. Fasel would help, among other things, with the solution of strategic issues of the league’s development. He himself clarified that he did not sign a contract with the KHL.
