Homeless animals want to lure into food booths

Activists of the Russian Public Initiative proposed to install feeders and booths for homeless animals in settlements. Folk experts believe that stray dogs will not pack and scare people if they know there are places where they can eat.
As MK found out, public activists took the initiative to oblige municipalities to feed homeless animals living on their territory and take care of their well-being. As the authors of the petition explain, according to the Law on the Responsible and Humane Treatment of Animals, our smaller brothers must be caught, sterilized, vaccinated and released back to their former habitats. In fact, this means that cats and dogs are again on the street without the opportunity to eat properly and hide from the weather. By law, the municipality is responsible for these animals, which means that the responsibility for feeding and treating them should also lie on the shoulders of officials.
Activists propose to legislate the obligation of local authorities to install feeding troughs, booths or other shelters for four-legged human friends throughout the settlements. Experts are convinced that it is not only possible, but also necessary, to feed and give shelter to homeless animals. And compassion and humane treatment of animals without owners is the duty of every citizen of the Russian Federation prescribed by law. The outward manifestation of these qualities is precisely the concern for the preservation of the life of stray bobiks and murziks, including their feeding and protection from bad weather.
Public activists clarify that the arrangement of shelters is no less important than catering. In frost, street dogs and cats freeze their paws, tails, ears and torso, in the worst case, they freeze to death. If secluded places were arranged for them, then they would sleep there most of the day, instead of huddling in flocks for survival and protection from people. This means that not only the quality of life of the animals themselves would increase, but also the safety of the population.
