Holidaymakers in Antalya also felt new earthquakes in Turkey

On the evening of February 20, two more strong earthquakes occurred in Turkey.
The first tremor with a magnitude of 6.4 occurred at 20.04 local time (it coincides with Moscow time), the second with a magnitude of 5.8 literally a few minutes later. The epicenters were in the Defne and Samandag districts of Hatay province. This was reported by the Turkish Office for the Elimination of the Consequences of Emergency Situations (AFAD).
Earthquakes were felt not only in other parts of Turkey, including Antalya, but also in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Israel and Lebanon.
In Turkey and Syria, earthquakes again caused the destruction of houses that miraculously survived after previous tremors, there are victims. So far, at least six people are known to have died in Turkey, while 294 people were injured. There were no reports of injured Russians.
On February 21, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 occurred in Iran, reports TASS with reference to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center. The epicenter was located 113 km northwest of the city of Bandar Abbas. No casualties or damage are known.
Some experts predict new tremors, possibly even greater.
As for the threat of a tsunami on the coasts of Turkey, there is none yet. And local authorities say that tourists have nothing to fear when planning holidays in the country’s resorts.
