September 10 and 11 is a holiday in Moscow! 875 years is no joke! Such a serious date is celebrated on a grand scale. Traditionally the center capital celebration and the most important place of attraction for Muscovites is Tverskaya Street and adjacent Mokhovaya and Okhotny Ryad.
In the center of Moscow, traffic was specially blocked, and thousands of Muscovites and guests of the capital on September 10 and 11 can enjoy their vacation, and the weather cleared up: they also wish their beloved city a happy birthday!
On Tverskaya street the special project “City: Details. Moscow: On the move. The street was conditionally divided into 4 thematic zones.
The first zone is dedicated to the Moscow River – “Water artery of Moscow”. Unique simulators are located here – simulators of a port crane and ship control, a model of the Northern River Station and even a cargo port. It is interesting that the site of the impromptu port became sports ground for gymnasts. Athletes did not just show exercises: an animation program created for this zone, created on the basis of the ballet “Chopiniana” by Mikhail Fokine to the music of Frederic Chopin. Combination intricate acrobatic stunts and classical ballet, all in blue and silver, became an allusion to the river.
Second site – “Transport Frame”, where 31 art objects were placed: a sectional view of a Moskvich car, models of bridges, as well as a subway car driving simulator. Master classes are held for everyone, and what is especially pleasant is that children and teenagers are unobtrusively shown the importance and prestige of working professions.
Fashion Industries of the City is the third zone. Here make-up and hairstyles, designer clothing collections, technological advances and robotics, racing cars and 3D printers.
The fourth point of the holiday is the most relevant. Here the present and the future united, and the site was named rather symbolically: “Moscow – Donbass”. Here you can learn about the historical ties that unite Donbass and Russia, about prominent people born in Donbass: Vladimir Dal, Sergei Prokofiev, Arkhip Kuindzhi, Nonna Mordyukova, Leonid Bykov and others. More than 120 master classes have been organized for guests, including intellectual and sports games, as well as meetings with athletes from Donbass.
The festive program on Tverskaya Street included performances by street orchestras with classical and modern repertoire. The street is decorated with themed banners, light installations, unusual art objects and flower flowerbeds. Videos about Moscow are broadcast on the building of the Central Telegraph. And also – master classes, cooking shows, cartoons, performances, a fair from 90 Russian designers, the final of the Moscow Seasons chess tournament, gastronomic shows, the work of men’s hairdressing salons, beauty studios, picturesque plein-airs, a cynological platform for four-legged citizens, and even open lessons in playing gorodki!
You definitely won’t be bored this weekend. The city is in holiday dress, the weather is beautiful. The big anniversary, as it should be, is celebrated on a grand scale – throughout the capital, in parks and on the main streets, there are 26 venues for every taste! On Sunday, the holiday will continue, and in the evening the Moscow sky will be decorated with a grandiose fireworks display.
