Hockey player Ovechkin responded to Hasek’s political statements

Izvestia reported that Russian forward for the NHL’s Washington Capitals, Alexander Ovechkin, said that he is not very interested in the statements of former goalie Dominik Hasek, who criticizes the National Hockey League due to the fact that hockey players from Russia still play in it.
“Hašek’s statements do not interest me much. All NHL clubs select hockey players based on their abilities and skills, and not on their nationality,” Ovechkin noted.
He added that Hasek was a very good goalkeeper in his time.
Let us recall that the Czech goalkeeper, after the start of the SVO, repeatedly endorsed sanctions against Russian and Belarusian athletes. In August, he told the media that he would try to force the NHL management to pay billions in compensation to Kyiv.
