Defender of the National Hockey League (NHL) Calgary club Nikita Zadorov has requested a trade, ESPN journalist Kevin Weekes reported on social network X. It is not specified which team Zadorov wants to go to.
The player’s agent Dan Milstein wrote that Calgary is unlikely to be able to keep the Russian. “Not when the team’s best defender barely gets playing time,” he explained.
Zadorov, 28, has played 12 games for Calgary this season. The Russian scored one goal and gave four assists.
Zadorovu has been playing for the Calgary Flames since 2021. Previously, he played for the Buffalo Sabers (2013–2015), Colorado Avalanche (2015–2020) and Chicago Blackhawks (2020–2021). He is also a bronze medalist at the 2019 World Championships as part of the Russian national team. In the NHL regular championships, he played 579 matches and scored 131 (42+89) points.
