Hockey Icebreaker Cup kicked off in Kaluga

In Kaluga on Tuesday, September 5, the Icebreaker Cup in hockey started. Tournament matches among amateur teams will go on for 5 days on two ice rinks – the Tsentralny Sports Palace and the Cosmos Palace, the regional Ministry of Sports reports.
10 teams participate in the competition, among them are guests from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The winner of the first place will get a prize of 1 million rubles. 3 Kaluga teams will compete for it – UHL Kaluga, KSU Kaluga and HC ECC.
The tournament was opened and held a symbolic face-off at the match “UHL Kaluga” – HC “Ledokol” by the Minister of Sports of the Kaluga region Oleg Serdyukov and the legend of Soviet hockey Vladimir Myshkin.
The first meeting of the Kaluga team with the Moscow hockey players ended with a score of 5:8, the guests won.
The Cup will run until September 9th.
