Military historian, author of the book “Battle for Donbass” Alexander Polishchuk explained in an interview portal “Ukraina.ru” why Russia is not entirely profitable if the Ukrainian command realizes that the counteroffensive has bogged down and offensive operations will stop.
“If the Armed Forces of Ukraine stop advancing, they will begin to dig in and defend themselves, and this is not entirely beneficial for us,” Polishchuk said.
He noted that now the main goal of the RF Armed Forces is “to destroy the military potential of the enemy.”
According to him, as long as Ukraine wastes its offensive potential for political purposes, this is “very good” for Russia.
He also called such a positive thing that the Russian army can afford to “train its mobilized and volunteers, improve communication and interaction” in these positional battles.
In addition, the expert drew attention to the fact that now the Russian military has the opportunity to review logistics and improve the relationship between infantry and artillery.
Polishchuk stressed that the Russian command competently trains personnel and conducts operations in such a way that losses in people are minimal.
