High school students will study unmanned aerial vehicles at life safety lessons

Schoolchildren in grades 10-11 will learn how to counter unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as part of basic military training (CMP). The thematic module is listed in the course program. Module 3 of the Fundamentals of Technical Training and Communications course states that students should “have an idea about the methods of combat use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and reconnaissance of the area using UAVs; know the algorithm for countering enemy UAVs; perform practical actions to control the UAV”.

NVP is included in the program “Fundamentals of Safe Life” for grades 10-11, the corresponding section appeared in the textbook on this subject. The new school life safety program was approved at the end of 2022. In addition to UAVs, at military training lessons, high school students will learn how to handle a Kalashnikov assault rifle and provide first aid, as well as learn about the principles of operation of the F-1 and RGD-5 grenades. But from the next academic year, life safety in schools will replace the subject “Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland.” Now the course is in the process of development, the high school curriculum will also include blocks on the causes of the special military operation.

Also earlier, Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov said that the specialty “operator of unmanned aerial systems” was included in the new approved list of professions that will be taught in Russian colleges.
