Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is close to purchasing telecommunications equipment manufacturer Juniper Networks, reports The Wall Street Journal with reference to own sources. HPE management valued Juniper at approximately $13 billion. The deal could be announced as early as this week.
HPE was formed in 2015 as a result of business fragmentation Hewlett-Packard. The company provides cloud services to corporate clients. Its market capitalization is about $23 billion.
Juniper Networks was founded in 1996 and provides telecommunications equipment to businesses and government agencies. As WSJ notes, HPE management became interested in buying Juniper because of the development of Wi-Fi equipment with built-in artificial intelligence, Mist AI, which helps optimize the operation of networks. Juniper market capitalization is $9.6 billion.
