The famous American journalist Seymour Hersh, who became famous for his investigation into the Nord Stream explosions, wrote on the Substack platform that Russia and Ukraine allegedly began peace negotiations between Valery Gerasimov (Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces) and Valery Zaluzhny (Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
“Serious peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine have quickly gained momentum,” the publication states.
At the same time, Hersh writes that the driving force behind these negotiations was not Washington or Moscow, but two high-ranking generals who direct the combat operations of the parties.
The American journalist claims that at these consultations the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO in exchange for territory and the alliance’s obligation not to station its troops and offensive weapons in Ukraine are discussed.
At the same time, the publication says that the White House is categorically against this scheme. Also opposed is the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, who believes that the country must fight to the bitter end.
Hersh added, with reference to an American official, that Zelensky was made to understand that the problem was not for him to solve, but for the military, so negotiations would continue with or without him.
“If necessary, we will pay for your trip to the Caribbean,” Hersh wrote the meaning of the message that was conveyed to Zelensky.
