Hero of Russia Vyacheslav Sivko: Today it is important to remember the lessons of history

The descendants of the heroes must remember their exploits and pay tribute to the defenders of the motherland, declared Hero of Russia, Chairman of the Association of Military Patriotic Clubs DOSAAF of Russia Vyacheslav Sivko.

He noted the importance of patriotic events in which the veteran community is now actively participating.

Vyacheslav Sivko said that this year an open-air museum will open on Red Square. Visitors will be able to see the life and training of the military, their equipment.

“Of course, both I and our veteran community support. We, as heroes of Moscow and the Moscow region, will also definitely take part, we will tell about those events as we see them, as we understand them,” Sivko said.

In his opinion, Russians are obliged to remember the history of their country and be proud of it. Sivko stressed the importance of deep respect for those who defended the freedom and independence of our country.

He recalled that in 1941, fascist Germany approached Moscow and the headquarters of the supreme commander-in-chief was considering options for raising the spirit of the entire people and army.

“It was decided to hold a parade in order to first of all raise the morale of the people. It is important for us as descendants not to forget, to show everyone that we remember. Everything that Moscow is doing for this is very correct,” Vyacheslav Sivko noted.

The interactive museum on Red Square will be open November 5-7. Its opening was timed to coincide with the 81st anniversary of the parade on November 7, 1941. Visitors will be shown theatrical performances, as well as a chronicle of the parades of 1941 and 1945.
