Heating turned on in 2,000 apartment buildings in Moscow

Also, heating was turned on in 2 thousand apartment buildings, said Petr Biryukov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement. Previously he informedthat in residential buildings heating will be switched on from September 18.

“Measures are being continued to turn on heating in social facilities – schools, kindergartens, sports and medical institutions, at present, heat is supplied to more than 3 thousand buildings. We turn on the heating at the request of the administrations, all work is carried out regularly. Heating has already been turned on in 2 thousand apartment buildings connected to transit heating networks, from which heat is supplied to socially significant facilities,” said Petr Biryukov (quoted from TASS).

On September 15, the deputy mayor reported that heating was connected to 1.5 thousand social facilities.

He did not list the areas in which heating was turned on. According to TASS, as of September 16, heat supply was connected in Solntsevo, Ramenki, Zyuzino, Golovinsky and Voikovsky districts.

According to the deputy mayor, heating in residential buildings will be turned on for five days, starting from September 18. First of all, they will provide social institutions, houses and offices, later – trade and industrial enterprises.

According to Russian law, heating in Moscow must be turned on if the air temperature stays below eight degrees for five days. Last week, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin instructed to start the heating season ahead of schedule due to a sharp cold snap in the capital.
