Heating in residential buildings in Moscow will begin to turn on on September 18, said Petr Biryukov, deputy mayor of the capital for housing and communal services and landscaping. He also noted that at the moment heat supply is included in 1.5 thousand social facilities.
Mr Biryukov told “RIA News”that hydraulic and temperature tests of heating networks were carried out, which contributed to the early identification of unreliable areas. They were subsequently renovated. According to him, more than 74,000 objects have been prepared for the heating season in Moscow, including over 34,000 residential apartment buildings.
Pyotr Biryukov noted that last week Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin instructed to start the heating season ahead of schedule due to a sharp cold snap in the capital. “Currently, heat is supplied on request to social institutions. Heating has already been turned on in more than 1,500 such facilities: kindergartens, schools, medical and sports facilities,” Mr. Biryukov said.
