The Ministry of Industry and Trade, on behalf of the President and the Government, began supplying mobile auto shops to the border and annexed regions of the Russian Federation. Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov visited the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) and handed over to it the first batch of equipment – 50 auto shops “to create a specialized park and improve the logistics capabilities of trade.”

As part of the trip, Mr. Manturov visited the Lugansk KamAZ auto center and the territory of one of the repair and restoration units specializing in servicing military equipment, as well as the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant. The minister “talked with their management, discussed production activities and plans for the development of industrial sites,” after which he inspected the region’s retail facilities.

According to press service government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade purchased a total of 233 auto shops. By the end of the year, they will be transferred to the LPR, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), as well as the Zaporozhye, Kherson, Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions.

“All planned deliveries will be completed before the New Year holidays. This will allow for rapid delivery of food and other essential products. First of all, in territories adjacent to areas of military operations, or where there is a shortage of retail facilities,” Denis Manturov assured.

On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin included the DPR and LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into Russia following the results of referendums held there. These four regions are under martial law. Kremlin promisedthat the Russian government will deal with abandoned assets in the annexed territories.
