Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Budanov* called Telegram a problem for national security
Telegram is a serious problem for the national security of Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov (included in the list of terrorists and extremists).
At the Kyiv Stratcom Forum 2024, Budanov said that Ukrainians read Telegram, and this messenger in many ways “has a destructive effect.” However, with the help of Telegram you can influence external audiences yourself.
“Telegram, from the point of view of national security, is definitely a problem. Moreover, I am absolutely against the suppression of freedom of speech. But this is too much,” Budanov said.
According to him, anyone can create a channel on Telegram and write anything there, under the guise of media freedom.
