Head of RFU referees: Russian referees are better than Russian football players

The refereeing school in our country is better developed than the football one. This opinion was expressed by the head of the refereeing department of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Pavel Kamantsev on Thursday, February 16, in conversation with a journalist of the Championship portal. In his opinion, Russian referees do their job better than compatriot players. There are very few top football players in Russia, although a lot of resources have been spent on their cultivation and it is good to be a football player in our country.

“I am convinced that our referees are better than our players,” Kamantsev said. – We don’t have many top Russian players. And our judicial system has given such referees as Karasev, Bezborodov and so on. Our football system cannot boast of such results.” The head of the refereeing department of the RFU added that with the advent of the Youth Football League (UFL), there may be a breakthrough. But if we talk about the past, the achievements are unsatisfactory. “Can you name a lot of our top players playing in Europe? Kamantsev asked. “At the same time, enormous resources have been spent. With the help of the limit, we created excellent conditions for our players. Being a player in Russia is great.”
