The parliamentarian told RIA Novosti that the proceeds from the sale of nationalized property will be used to provide social support to participants in the military operation in Ukraine and their families. Mr. Konstantinov assured that the property of “respectable Ukrainians” who did not conduct “anti-Russian activities” was not in danger.
In early February, the State Council of Crimea accepted a decree on the nationalization of almost 500 objects of property of foreign citizens, “unfriendly” to Russia. The portfolio of nationalized property included, among other things, enterprises that were owned by businessmen Rinat Akhmetov, Igor Kolomoisky, Sergei Taruta, Arseniy Yatsenyuk. The authorities of the Republic also want confiscate the assets of 12 Ukrainian banks.
