Head coach of FC Sochi Khokhlov resigned after the defeat from Spartak

The head coach of the Sochi football club, Dmitry Khokhlov, resigned after his team’s defeat in the game against Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League (RPL). The club’s management has already accepted Khokhlov’s resignation and appointed Alexander Tochilin to the post of coach.
“FC Sochi and head coach Dmitry Khokhlov are ending their cooperation by mutual agreement of the parties. The club thanks Dmitry Valerievich for the work done and wishes him good luck in his future career,” says the message on website club.
Khokhlov was appointed to the post of Sochi coach in April 2023 after the resignation of the team’s previous coach Kurban Berdyev. Under the leadership of Khokhlov, Sochi played 19 official matches in the RPL and the Russian Football Cup, winning five times, drawing once and suffering 11 defeats. The day before, on September 16, Sochi lost to Spartak Moscow with a score of 0:1 in the RPL match and dropped to 12th place in the national championship standings.
The new head coach of Sochi, Alexander Tochilin, previously led this team in 2018–2019 and in 2022. This RPL season, Tochilin was one of Dmitry Khokhlov’s assistants on the coaching staff of the Sochi club. For how long this time Sochi signed a contract with the specialist is not specified.
