The Sochi hockey club interrupted its unsuccessful streak of nine defeats in a row. Dmitry Kokorev’s team won for the first time since October 27, having beaten Togliatti’s Lada on home ice the day before, November 16.
If the “leopards”, due to a series of defeats, dropped to ninth place in the Western Conference table, then their opponents, on the contrary, gained momentum in the last matches and settled in second place in the East. However, the hosts opened the scoring – Matvey Michkov scored.
The visitors seemed to have regained the lead when they scored three goals in a row, but Timur Khafizov immediately reduced the gap. However, Lada quickly increased the gap to two goals.
The third period was entirely for the “leopards”. For the first time since October 27, they scored first the third goal in one game (Marat Khusnutdinov scored), and then the fourth (Jeremy Bracco).
The fate of the meeting was decided in a shootout, where the hosts turned out to be stronger and finally won. The team will also play the next match at home – November 18 against CSKA (0+).
Earlier, MK in Sochi wrote that Sochi karateka became second at international competitions.
