Krasnodar “Kuban” became the winner of the championship of the urban district of Togliatti. The pre-season handball tournament was held in the capital of the Russian car industry.
The competition was attended by 3 teams of the Russian Women’s Superleague – “Kuban”, Togliatti “Lada” and Zvenigorod “Zvezda”, as well as a double of the hostesses “Lada-2”.
Krasnodar lost in the first match to the main team of Togliatti with a score of 28:31, but then won 2 victories. Denis Saifulin’s wards beat Zvezda with a score of 34:26, and Lada-2 – 42:29.
In the final match of the tournament, Zvezda managed to defeat Lada 30:29, scoring the decisive goal in the last seconds. After that, the three teams had the same number of points, and in personal meetings between them, Kuban had the best performance.
Krasnodar scored the most goals in the tournament – 104. The most productive among the yellow-greens was Anastasia Shavman with 13 goals, Yana Savinova and Victoria Zhilinskaite scored 12 goals each.
The most reliable goalkeeper in Krasnodar was Elena Nikolaeva (Utkina), who has 34 percent of the reflected shots. In addition, she scored 2 goals.
The head coach of the team Denis Saifulin in an interview with the club’s press service noted that he was satisfied with the physical form of the players and their mood. At the same time, according to him, there is a lot of work to be done before the start of official matches.
