The Hamas movement issued a statement welcoming Turkey’s decision to recall its ambassador from Israel.
Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Ministry reported on its website that it was decided to invite the Ambassador in Tel Aviv, Shakir Ozkan Torunlar, to Ankara for consultations due to the fact that Israel did not accept calls for a ceasefire and continued attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry, in turn, in a response statement, emphasized that the country is waging a defensive war, which was imposed by a terrorist organization. The Israeli Foreign Ministry regarded the recall of the ambassador as another step by the Turkish president to take the side of Hamas.
