Russian hackers who issued an ultimatum to GSC Game World and did not receive a satisfactory answer ended up published about 17 gigabytes of behind-the-scenes data on the post-apocalyptic shooter STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
This massive 16.5 GB archive includes screenshots, illustrations and a lot of other materials such as design documents, STALKER 2 world map, hundreds of frames from the game at different stages of development, models, animations and much more.
In addition, the leak contains a section with relevant details of the STALKER 2 story: from sketches for intro videos and descriptions of artifacts to plot moves, the fate of key characters, answers to main questions, and even the final choice. Hackers advise not to look into this section for those who are afraid of spoilers.
The archive also contains “minimal” details of future DLCs, evidence of GSC’s use of developments (including plot) of the canceled STALKER 2 sample of 2011, as well as a number of materials that can be studied to understand the history of production and much more.
Recall that in response to the hackers’ ultimatum, GSC Game World asked fans to refrain from viewing or spreading leaks on STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, since the published materials are outdated and do not reflect the current state of the game.
The release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is expected in 2023 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S, as well as in Game Pass. However, the game will not be sold in Russia and will not have voice acting in Russian.
