Gymnastics. Cup of the strongest – Moskovskaya Pravda

On October 4-6, in Moscow, at the Gymnastics Palace of Irina Viner-Usmanova, the next stage of the Strongest Cup took place. Athletes from 7 countries took part in international competitions: Russia, Uzbekistan, Armenia, India, Jordan, Syria and Madagascar. The Russian team was represented by the strongest athletes of the team, including Lala Kramarenko and the Russian team in group exercises. The most titled athletes in Russia, the Averina sisters, did not participate in the tournament, “it takes time to heal injuries.”

The hoop exercises were won by Anastasia Guzenkova. The gymnast also showed the best result with this apparatus in the all-around. Experts call her performances “the standard of rhythmic gymnastics.” The second was Alexandra Skubova. The top three winners were closed by Lala Kramarenko, who lost her hoop during her performance. According to Russian rules, Maria Borisova won.

Lala Kramarenko “recouped” in the final with the ball. She passed the exercise perfectly, the audience gave a standing ovation – a well-deserved first place. Anastasia Guzenkova became the second with an error-free execution of the exercise. Bronze went to Maria Pobedushkina, who made mistakes in catching.

According to Russian rules, the hoop final was won by Diana Chugunikhina. In exercises with clubs, Lala Kramarenko again excelled. Her performance to Tchaikovsky’s opera The Queen of Spades literally blew up the audience. Anastasia Guzenkova lost less than a point to the leader. The third is Alexandra Skubova, who dropped her mace.

“To say that I am very happy is to say little, I am glad that she did not take first place: as soon as she made a little mistake, that’s it, she lost, not even second place. Such competition is encouraging, thank God. The fact is that Lala had problems with her foot, with a finger, there was a bruise, to put it mildly. I told her that health is the most important thing, “let me take you off.” She said “no way!”, she performed both at the preliminary and at the final. Of course, everything hurt, but she overcame herself. And since she overcame herself in three programs, she did the fourth one as if she had never had any pain and would not get sick. God forbid, ”Irina Viner summed up the performances of Lala Kramarenko.

Diana Chugunikhina took another gold – in the final with clubs in the stream, which was judged according to Russian rules.

Gold was won by Lala Kramarenko, who went through a clean program, which surprised few people. The second place went to Anastasia Guzenkova, whose ribbon got tangled in her legs. The third was Alexandra Skubova, who was almost clean.

The final according to Russian rules was won by Maria Borisova. Since only two representatives of one country could be on the podium, the strongest gymnast representing a different flag, namely the Armenian Silva Sargsyan, received bronze medals.

The culmination of the evening: before awarding the winners of the second stage of the Cup of the strongest, Dina Averina was honored. She was awarded a certificate from the Russian Book of Records, as she is the owner of 18 gold medals at the World Championship.
