“Guys will remember the tournament for the rest of their lives” – coach of Sochi handball players about the “Autumn Cup”

In Novorossiysk, young handball players from all over Russia held the Autumn Cup tournament. The competition was hosted by the sports complex “Delo Sport” in Abrau-Dyurso.

The tournament featured 6 teams of girls (born in 2012) and 6 teams of boys (born in 2011). The Krasnodar Territory was represented by the teams of the sports school No. 8 of the city of Sochi.

In the girls’ competition, the compositions took third place. In the semi-finals, they lost to the Leningrad Region team with a score of 8:9. In the match for the 3rd place, the team managed to defeat the Belgorod region – 12:6.

In the youth tournament, the Sochi team came fourth, losing in the semi-final to the Samara region (11:25) and in the small final of the Leningrad region with a minimal margin (10:11).

The left welterweight of the Krasnodar Territory Irina Karakyan entered the symbolic team of the tournament for girls, and Sergey Panteleev from Sochi was recognized as the best goalkeeper for boys.

The coach of the Black Sea teams spoke in detail about the tournament Ruslan Nibo. He noted that there was an element of chance in participating in the tournament.

– Due to the lack of teams, Andrey Vitalyevich Stepanov, chairman of the commission for children’s and youth handball of the FGR, turned to us, as the nearest district. We were pleasantly surprised that we were invited to such a tournament, and, of course, agreed. If I had had the opportunity to fully prepare, I think the result would have been a little different. To prepare for such a tournament, at least one cycle is needed – 21 training days. We did not have the opportunity to play friendly games. Arrived fairly quickly. The girls managed to cope with the task, but the boys were a little less lucky, they came out from third place in the group in the semi-finals, the team from Togliatti lost in the end, and in the game for bronze medals we were a little lacking strength.

In the semi-final, the girls lost only 1 goal without scoring a penalty. But they took an honorable third place. There was practically no fight for him in the match. We won 12:6 Belgorod region.

In any case, we are very pleased with the result. With all rivals met for the first time. We worked in tandem with Father Kandaur Batyrbievich. He is an honored teacher of the Kuban, has been engaged in this type of activity for more than 40 years, he has many pupils. I looked at the games of the other teams, and in the evening I made a plan together. My father is more engaged in defensive actions, and the attacking functions were on me. We do one thing, he is 40 years old, I am 17. In our opinion, everything turned out more than successfully.

Ruslan Nibo highly appreciated the organization of the tournament.

– The organization was at the highest level – three meals a day, accommodation in a wonderful hotel, buses were brought and taken to the games. The organizers were given the opportunity to go to the sea, so that the children could walk there, go to the museum, and look at the ships. We played in a cozy and comfortable sports complex.

I want to express my gratitude to the President of the Russian Handball Federation Sergey Nikolaevich Shishkarev, the Director General of the FGR Lev Gennadievich Voronin, the staff of the FGR represented by the head of the children’s and youth handball Anastasia Slashchuk and the All-Russian events specialist Svetlana Shomodi, the chairman of the commission on children’s and youth handball Andrey Vitalievich Stepanov, to the chief referee of the competition Yuri Alekseevich Sadovsky and his team for the work carried out at this tournament.

They created a holiday. It’s very nice to see how children’s handball is funded. Each participant was presented with T-shirts, water bottles, and each team was presented with good balls. Prizes for children are generally crazy: medals, diplomas, cups, we won’t even see this on TV! This tournament will remain in the hearts of children for life. I would like to believe that such holidays for kids who are just starting their way in handball will become traditional. In them, you can get additional practice and feel the joy to the full of the fact that you made the right choice in favor of such a sport as handball!

The specialist spoke about the strongest teams of the tournament and the prospects of the Sochi players.

– The teams from the Yaroslavl region were the strongest, they won the competitions among boys and girls. I talked with the coach, they are stronger due to their knack, they regularly travel to neighboring regions for all sorts of tournaments, they have a base. We don’t have that at that age. In middle age, we can go to the regional championship once a year and that’s it. The lack of game practice affected. I note that after Abrau-Durso, we, as an adult team, took first place in the Cup of the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory. Thanks to the new head of the city sports department Anatoly Nikolaevich Miroshnikov. With its appearance, the number of trips increased by 4 times. Growth is coming. Our children are involved in the national team of the region, get into the professional teams of Krasnodar, Stavropol, Rostov, Maykop. And more than 15 champions of Russia have accumulated over the years.
