An increase in the incidence of SARS, influenza and coronavirus in Russia during the New Year holidays is unlikely, says the director of the NRC. N. F. Gamalei Alexander Gintsburg. He explained that Russians almost never travel abroad, and foreigners also rarely come to Russia.
“The likelihood of an increase in the incidence of covid, influenza and SARS during the holidays is not very high, our citizens on these New Year’s (holidays.— “b”) they won’t fly especially strongly around the globe, and to us too, ”said TASS Mr Gunzburg.
In November 2022 Rospotrebnadzor announced about the start of the influenza and COVID-19 season. In December, restrictive measures began to be returned in some regions of the Russian Federation – in particular, in Moscow, Rospotrebnadzor advised wearing masks in public places. According to the agency, by January 3, the incidence of influenza and SARS in Russians decreased by 29.3% compared to the previous week.
