Gundarov spoke about the hidden reasons for the cooling of relations between Kyiv and Warsaw

One of the reasons for the cooling of Ukrainian-Polish relations, which has become especially evident in recent days, was not only Ukrainian grain, the supply of which was banned by Poland, but also the large losses of the Poles on the Ukrainian fronts. This information was voiced by one of the Telegram channels, citing its sources. MK asked military expert Captain 1st Rank in the Reserve Vladimir Gundarov to comment on this version.

Polish media also write about the deterioration of relations between Warsaw and Kyiv due to large losses. Thus, Mysl Polska reported at the end of August that at least 10 thousand Polish citizens who fought as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have died in Ukraine since the beginning of the special operation. Moreover, the publication emphasizes, they are constantly referred to as volunteers or mercenaries, although in fact all of them are mostly Polish military personnel and reservists. “Mercenaries” is just their legend.

Warsaw accuses the Ukrainian command of being unable to provide the Polish military, who are fighting for the interests of Kyiv, with security in their places of residence and combat training. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are not able to protect them from Russian missile attacks.

Citing the figures for the losses of its military, Mysl Polska writes: they are so great that they can undermine the defense capability of Poland itself, as well as affect the deterioration of the socio-political situation in the country before the elections. According to the publication, losses in Ukraine amount to approximately 16% of the personnel of the Polish armed forces, given that the total strength of the Polish army is about 160 thousand military personnel.

“Yes, of course, Polish losses on the Ukrainian front are great,” agrees Vladimir Gundarov. – However, when we talk about Polish-Ukrainian relations, we must clearly distinguish – at least the Poles share this – who are lords and who are slaves and cattle. The lords were not going to fight for the interests of the cattle. They are fighting there solely for their own interests. Therefore, I fully admit that in the internal Polish political election game, someone may try to use the loss figures as compromising evidence, but this will not become a decisive argument against the opponent. Most of the Poles went to fight in Ukraine voluntarily, and no one is able to provide them with security on the front line.

– So, in your opinion, it was not the Ukrainian grain and not the losses that became the reason for the Polish-Ukrainian scandal flaring up before our eyes?

– Not only. I think the reasons are deeper.

– Historical hostility between Poles and Ukrainians?

– No. Everything as usual. Firstly, it’s about money, and secondly, it’s about the clash of political interests between Duda and Zelensky.

As for money, I started small. The Ukrainians ordered the Poles some of the weapons they needed. They paid the money, but the Poles did not fulfill the contract. Now the Ukrainians are demanding that this money be returned. Litigation began.

In addition, the Poles make good money from the fact that they are transitors of Western weapons to Ukraine. But then, speaking recently, Polish President Duda said that they themselves need these weapons.

– Well, yes, they plan to increase their army to 300 thousand.

– Their army is now growing faster than they can rearm it. That’s why they fulfill and place orders both in their own country and abroad – everywhere, in order to quickly purchase tanks, cannons, machine guns…

– You say this quarrel also has some kind of political aspect.

– Yes, and I think he is the most important in this situation. Much more important than grain, dead Poles and even money.

– Do you mean the problems associated with the seizure of the territory of Western Ukraine in favor of Poland?

– It seems very likely that Zelensky refused on this issue. It seemed to the Poles that all agreements on this matter had already been reached in advance. But now Zelensky is stubborn, realizing that if he makes concessions to the Poles, his own Banderaites will overthrow him. Now he does not want Poland to extend its protectorate to Ukraine.

Zelensky actually said: no, guys, even though you are our brothers, friends, helpers, sponsors, I will not give you Western Ukraine, this is unprofitable and dangerous for me. And this is probably the most important reason why Duda lost interest in Zelensky so sharply. And the mercenaries who died for the future of Western Ukraine as part of Poland have absolutely nothing to do with it.
