The skating rink on Red Square will not work on January 7 and 8 due to a severe cold snap. Those who are not afraid of frost will be able to ride on other ice rinks in the capital these days.
The closure of the GUM skating rink was announced on the site of the ice rink.
“Due to low temperatures, the skating rink will not work on January 7 and 8,” the message says.
Meanwhile, the Telegram channel of parks subordinate to the Department of Culture of the city of Moscow says that skating rinks in parks, despite the cold snap, will continue to work as usual.
“Everyone will be able to ride in accordance with the schedule of sessions,” the message says.
The skating rink at VDNKh will not be closed either.
However, experts warn that in severe frosts, the ice is deformed, which can lead to cracks on the ice paths. Ice rink staff will restore the surface during technical breaks, but visitors are urged to be careful and follow the rules of conduct on the rinks.
