Guillaume Hoarau ends his professional career and signs for Reunion

Former French international Guillaume Hoarau is ending his career at the age of 38, after 18 years as a professional, he announced on Instagram on Monday. He nevertheless joined the Jeunesse Sportive Saint-Pierroise, his training club with amateur status in Reunion.
“I’m leaving the pro world (for the moment)”he wrote. “I loved my job which motivated me until the last moment”and a final season in Switzerland at FC Sion.
Hoarau, who has 5 selections for the French team (0 goals), was trained at JS Saint-Pierroise in Reunion, before joining Le Havre in 2004.
Passed in particular by Paris Saint-Germain (2008-2013), he also played in Dalian, China, Bordeaux and Young Boys Bern, Switzerland.
“Thank you to all my teammates!” he added, “I love you all and sorry for the jokes and songs in the shower”.
He also thanked “my coaches who taught me so much and made me play so much”.
