Russian Ambassador to Belarus Gryzlov: nuclear weapons moved to the western borders of the Union State
Nuclear weapons in Belarus will be moved to the western borders of the Union State. Such a statement was made on Sunday on the Belarusian TV channel STV by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic Boris Gryzlov, informs state agency BelTA.
According to him, the fact that there is a lot of noise in the West around the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, this is already good.
Gryzlov clarified his words: “Finally, they are paying attention to the fact that there should be a certain parity.”
He noted that “if we are talking about the deployment of American nuclear weapons in European countries … then we must take actions that will increase the security of our Union State.” Among such countries, he named Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Turkey. According to him, for Washington, “these countries are just puppets, and we have a single space.”
“Russia and Belarus are the territory of the Union State,” Gryzlov recalled, “moreover, legalized, unlike the territory of countries where the United States deploys its nuclear weapons.”
He stated that before July 1, a storage facility for placing tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus would be prepared. “It will be moved to the western borders of our Union State and will increase the possibilities for ensuring our security,” the ambassador said.
