Group race season opens in Moscow parks

Fans of a healthy lifestyle are invited to group races, which will be held on weekends in many parks of the capital.

The routes are laid across different terrain and distances, so that participation in the races is comfortable for both experienced athletes and beginners, according to the official website of the Moscow Mayor.

So, for those who have just decided to join long-distance running, routes are organized with a length of no more than 5 km on flat terrain, and experienced athletes are offered to overcome distances of 15-30 kilometers on rough terrain, with difficult terrain and a large height difference.

For example, races along the Lower Tsaritsyno Pond, which are held in the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, are suitable for beginners. The distance is 5 kilometers. At the same time, it is not necessary to run all the time, the time for passing the distance does not really matter, although it is still fixed and after the finish you can find out your result. These races will take place every Saturday. Start – at 9.00.

Gorky Park organized six-day classes for beginners under the guidance of experienced trainers. For races, distances from 2 to 10 kilometers are offered to choose from. Experienced athletes are invited to take part in races from 15 to 30 kilometers long, which will be held on Saturdays and Sundays.

By the way, on April 15, Gorky Park will host a festive race dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the All-Russian park jogging movement. The race starts at 9 am.

And in some parks of the capital, friendly races “5 miles” are held every Saturday. Adults and children over four years of age can participate. Five-kilometer distances can be overcome at a pace convenient for you. To participate, you need to register in advance on the websites of the parks where the races take place and receive a QR code that you will be asked to present at the start. Athletes also start at 9.00.

Also, group races are regularly held in the parks “Fili”, “Northern Tushino”, “Kuzminki”, “Angarskiye Prudy”, Druzhby Park, the park of the Olympic Village and others.

At the start and during the races, athletes are usually accompanied by coaches and volunteers. All events are free to attend, but some require pre-registration.
