Grossi: there was some improvement in safety at the Zaporozhye NPP

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi expressed concerns about the state of safety at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). He explained to RIA Novosti that despite some improvements, the situation remains extremely fragile.
Grossi emphasized that positive changes in the field of security had previously been noticed, but the situation around the plant continues to remain tense, so the Zaporizhia NPP remains in a high-risk area.
According to the IAEA Director General, at the moment the territory of the Zaporizhia NPP is not under fire, which is certainly a positive circumstance. However, Grossi admitted that the situation in the region is still unstable and stressed that the entire team is ready for possible challenges.
“I weigh my words carefully. This could happen at any moment – this is a war zone,” he emphasized.
