Media: Greta Thunberg detained at an unauthorized protest in The Hague
Environmental activist Greta Thunberg was detained by law enforcement officers in The Hague, the reason for the detention was her participation in an unauthorized protest, NOS reports.
The protest, which Thunberg took part in, was reportedly against fossil fuel subsidies and the climate policies of the outgoing Dutch government. The protesters expected to block several important streets, but were detained. Thunberg was detained more than once, but, according to her, the detention took place without incident.
Earlier, Swedish law enforcement officers disrupted Thunberg’s sit-in protest near the country’s parliament in Stockholm; she and like-minded people protested against the “political inaction” of the country’s authorities regarding climate change.
Earlier, Greta Thunberg criticized the final UN climate document.
