“The last DDoS attack was two weeks ago, it was the most powerful attack in our history. It was about three to four times more powerful than the most powerful one before,” he said.

Gref added that the attack was carried out by hackers whose handwriting was not previously familiar to the credit institution. According to him, “some new, very qualified criminals” have appeared on the market who regularly attack the largest Russian resources.

He added that the attackers launched the attack “from infrastructure located in foreign countries, numbering at least 30,000 devices.” According to him, 440 Sberbank services were subjected to an attack that lasted more than a day, but no interruptions in their work were recorded.
