The UK has signed an agreement with Ukraine to provide assistance in rebuilding infrastructure. About it informs press office of the British government.
The UK has signed a historic pact with Ukraine that commits to sharing engineering expertise and promises a new support package to help rebuild its war-damaged infrastructure.
Earlier, British Minister of Transport Grant Shapps held a video conference with the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, during which the parties discussed a joint action plan to restore the railway network, roads and bridges.
It is noted that under the signed agreement, the UK will provide Ukraine with the assistance of experts from British private companies and enterprises in the restoration of airports, runways and ports.
Shapps also spoke in more detail about the £10m rail rebuilding package announced at the G7 summit. It is planned to use these funds to purchase equipment for repairing bridges and laying tunnels, as well as hand tools and more than 120 shipping containers for transportation.
According to the press service of the British government, at the moment the total amount of assistance allocated to Ukraine by the UK is almost £4 billion in the form of multilateral loan guarantees and more than £100 million in bilateral support.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson resigned yesterday announced about the allocation of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of £54 million. It included 200 modern unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ammunition, as well as 850 manually launched Black Hornet microdrones, which are designed for use in cities and villages.
