Computer crashes, impossible tasks and other surprises of the 2023 exam campaign

The main period of the Unified State Exam is coming to an end – it remains to pass only foreign languages and computer science. The results are already loaded into the children’s personal accounts. The main exams – Russian and mathematics, will appear there no later than June 16. But it wasn’t without drama. Points in Russian began to come on the 13th, and, in accordance with this number, caused a panic. In Moscow and the Moscow Region, schoolchildren received “zeros” for the test part of the assignments and for the composition – there was a technical failure in the calculation of the results. Earlier, it was reported from the regions that even the smartest students were cut off in specialized mathematics. “MK” decided to find out what the preliminary result of the exams is.

Mass complaints about unreasonably low scores for the Russian language began to come the day before from the Moscow region. Even excellent students received 40-50 points or less. “The daughter went to the red certificate, counted on at least 97 points, she sobbed all night,” they write from Reutov. The Ministry of Education of the Ministry of Defense admitted that there was a technical failure of the computer that checks the first part of the test task and essays. That is why incorrect results were poured onto the personal pages of 11-graders. The failure “has already been eliminated and affected only 2.8 thousand graduates out of more than 35 thousand handing over,” the department’s press service was told. The correct data is being loaded. If something is wrong when updating information, “there is an appeal”.

The USE in the Russian language was considered by many graduates to be difficult, more difficult than in 2020. The promised novelties, “tasks of increased complexity”, contained tricky questions on stress and rare cases of morphology. “Here, for example, the word “super-bright,” says Peter, who expected 80-90 points in Russian, but received 64 points. “I specifically interviewed about 20 people, and only one of them knew that a firm sign was needed there.” The second reason for the low score, he calls the topic of the essay – he got “What does it mean to survive a defeat with dignity.” “As if they knew something about this,” the graduate jokes. “Honestly, I prepared this block worse, more literary questions. And then he simply didn’t know what to put the “reason” (one of the mandatory elements for evaluating an essay in the Unified State Examination). From the bulldozer put … “

Earlier, MK wrote that in the regions, in specialized mathematics, they were given a “cunning” economic and banking “task No. 15, which almost no one coped with.” Like, in the demo version there was nothing even remotely similar. Which gave rise to conspiracy theories: the regions were hacked to death so that everyone would not go to Moscow. And Russian was complicated so that everyone went to technical specialties …

“I don’t think that’s the case,” says an expert on passing the exam. – It is very difficult to arrange this, because the specific content of KIMs (examination tasks – author) is formed by an expert commission at FIPI. And these commissions have nothing to do with each other. They tend to complicate tasks and by themselves …

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education hastened to announce an increase in average scores in subjects that passed first. Chemistry on average in the country increased from 54.2 to 56.2 points, 100 points increased by 4%. Literature also increased slightly – from 60.7 to almost 64 points. The geography has not sank, and okay …

There are no more official data about any exams, they haven’t counted yet. The takers’ opinions were divided. There is a wide range of messages about history: from “the check is quite complicated, closer to fierce” – to “everything was much more complicated on the probe”. The examination lottery also has not gone away – someone got the question about the chronicles of the Time of Troubles, and someone: “Indicate the head of the CPSU at the time of the release date of the medal dedicated to the first satellite.”

Approximately the same thing is reported by those who wrote the exam about social science (the most frequent additional subject of the exam for those who enter the humanities and natural sciences). The questions were mostly familiar, and they prepared for them. But someone also got difficult tasks, for example, No. 23 – about the provisions of the Constitution.

In general, if we sum up the preliminary results, the graduates are satisfied with physics and chemistry, many considered Russian difficult, and there are no complaints about basic mathematics. English this year was not in favor, it was chosen by significantly fewer students than before (and in some schools it was openly not recommended to take it to the exam). Biology – traditionally a difficult exam, because they go to medical universities with it – was at the usual level. To some, it seemed simple, and someone asks: “Have you woken up from the shock yet?” Those who got it were especially puzzled by the new assignment in genetics “with a subvert”. But it was the same both in Moscow and in the regions.
