Social studies, geography and computer science – these three “optional” subjects were among the leaders of the ninth graders who will take the Main State Exam this year.
The Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science announced that the acceptance of applications from high school graduates for participation in the State Final Attestation has ended. In total, more than 1 million 472 thousand ninth graders wrote an application for the OGE. In order to receive a certificate of graduation from high school, they need to pass the OGE in four subjects: two compulsory – Russian and mathematics – and two “optional”. Children with disabilities or limited health opportunities will be able to pass only two exams within the framework of the State Final Attestation – Russian language and mathematics.
If we talk about the choice of subjects, social science this year will be taken by 836,000 ninth-graders, geography – 641,000 people, computer science – almost 551,000 ninth-graders. More than 349 thousand people are planning to take the OGE in biology, almost 127 thousand in physics, more than 117 thousand in chemistry, almost 113 thousand in English, more than 53 thousand in history, and more than 34 thousand in literature.
