The Tverskoy Court of Moscow appointed politician Leonid Gozman (recognized as a foreign media agent) 15 days of arrest for publicly identifying the USSR and Nazi Germany (part 1 of article 13.48 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). This was reported by TASS and Interfax with reference to the press service of the court.
According to Interfax, the reason for the arrest was the post of Mr. Gozman on Facebook (owned by the company Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation). In one of his posts, the politician compared Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler.
In April, a criminal case was opened against Mr. Gozman for failing to notify him of his second citizenship. On July 15, as part of the case, he was interrogated in the department of the Investigative Committee for Moscow. During interrogation, the defense of the politician presented a document confirming that the notification of citizenship was filed on time. In this regard, as the politician’s lawyer Mikhail Biryukov said, the case will be closed.
