Government and business agreed on roadmaps for high-tech areas

First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko signed cooperation agreements with businesses on roadmaps for high-tech areas. This was reported by the apparatus of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko.

“The signing of agreements on the implementation of roadmaps is an obligation for digital companies and the state to bring to the market competitive high-tech products based on end-to-end technologies by certain time points,” the press service quoted Belousov as saying.

A total of five roadmaps were agreed upon. Among the signatories are Rostec,Rosatom“, Russian Railways“Rostelecom”, 1C and VK. Chernyshenko noted that the first results on the implementation of the roadmaps are expected in 2023. For example, as part of the roadmap “Modern and promising mobile networks” (one of the signatories is Rostec), import substitution of 4G networks will begin next year.

In January, the Ministry of Economic Development will approve the monitoring methodology. Chernyshenko specified that ANO Tsifrovaya ekonomika will be the coordinator of the process.

The First Deputy Prime Minister noted that a technological revolution is taking place now. According to him, new segments of demand are being formed, management technologies are changing. This includes the development of artificial intelligence technologies, as well as quantum computing and communications, the production of new materials, “the so-called heavy software and microelectronics,” Belousov specified.

Chernyshenko added that Russia is among the top five world leaders in the field of quantum computing. He recalled that the country already has domestic operating systems, instant messengers, software and anti-virus programs for information security.

According to the document, already in 2023, 100,000 people will be able to use communication services using 5G based on domestic solutions. It is expected that 4G networks on domestic equipment will appear by 2025. 6 million people will be able to connect to them, a year later this number will increase to 10 million, and by 2030 it will be 100 million people.
