“Gosuslugi” suspended the acceptance of applications for a new passport
[ad_1]
Since February 2, it has become impossible to apply for a biometric passport on the public services portal. This is due to the shortage of chips for the production of such passports.
The message on the portal clarifies that those who managed to apply through the State Services, but have not yet received a new document, should wait for a message that will indicate the further course of action.
And citizens who applied in another way are advised to contact the migration unit at the place where they applied for a passport.
It is planned to solve the problem with the shortage of chips at the Goznak factory, where passports are printed, within a month.
Those who cannot wait that long can still issue a passport without biometrics, valid for 5 years. And later to issue a document with electronic media. In this case, both passports will be valid.
