Google at Google I/O introduced The Pixel Fold is the company’s first foldable smartphone and bills itself as the thinnest foldable smartphone on the market. The Google Pixel Fold will hit the market in the summer of 2023. A smartphone worth $1.8 thousand is already available for pre-order, but the novelty will be officially presented only in the US, UK, Germany and Japan.
The device received two OLED displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and support for HDR10. The external 5.8-inch screen has a resolution of 2092×1080 pixels, the internal 7.6-inch screen has a resolution of 2208×1840 pixels. Like other Pixel models, the novelty has a proprietary Google Tensor G2 chip, which is combined with 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of internal memory.
The Pixel Fold has five cameras. Two 8MP front-facing cameras are built into the outer and inner displays, while the main module includes a 48MP main lens with OIS and 5x optical zoom, as well as a 10MP wide-angle lens and a 10MP telephoto lens.
It is stated that the smartphone received a special hinge, which is the most durable among all folding devices. The novelty has a waterproof housing according to the IPX8 standard, a 4.8 thousand mAh battery with support for 30 W fast wired charging and wireless charging.
