Google introduced Chromebooks with artificial intelligence – Kommersant

Google Company presented eight new Chromebook Plus laptops, which received improved specifications and support for artificial intelligence. The new products were created in collaboration with Acer, ASUS, HP and Lenovo. Sales of the new Chromebooks in the US will begin in October, starting at $400.

All Chromebook Plus laptops come with faster processors (12th Gen Intel Core i3 or later or AMD Ryzen 3 7000 series or later), twice the RAM (8GB+), and twice the SSD storage (128GB+). All Chromebook Plus laptops also come with a Full HD or higher resolution IPS display. All devices also received a webcam with a resolution of 1080p+, a noise reduction system and a number of functions based on artificial intelligence. The new Chromebooks will feature the ChromeOS 117 operating system with a redesigned interface and expanded capabilities.

The main novelty of the operating system was the introduction of technologies based on artificial intelligence, including Magic Eraser in the built-in Google Photos application for photo editing, Google Drive integration for saving files to cloud storage in real time. It is announced to work with web versions of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Express Premium, equipped with generative artificial intelligence based on Adobe Firefly. Google’s proprietary artificial intelligence is built into the context menu of Chromebooks, and in 2024, new features based on artificial intelligence will appear in operating system updates.

The first Chromebook Plus devices will be classic laptops Acer Chromebook Plus 514 and Acer Chromebook Plus 515, ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34, HP Chromebook Plus and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i starting at $400, as well as convertible laptops with touch screen HP Chromebook Plus x360, Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook Plus and ASUS Chromebook Plus CM34 Flip starting at $500.
